Dibs is a true American game. It is simple, and challenging. It is like baseball. It is like football. It is like soccer.
It just doesn't involve those kinds of balls.
Dibs is a game I wish I could say I invented, like nut tag (yes the game that involves asking people what the capital of thailand is and then responding with bangcock and wacking them in the junk...)
Dibs is a game that requires balls, it requires people skills, and doesn't require shyness or the fear of rejection.
The game itself is not biased by sex. However, guys tend to play this game and I have yet to know a girl who plays! The game itself is just a way of claiming what you see and what you like. Essentially it is like calling shotgun in a car but claiming a girl (or guy, hey I am not going to tell you what to be into) for yours to attempt to "woo" in a sense.
I spent the majority of the last two years playing this game daily, and well it has become an art. Basically here is the run down on points. 10 points per dibs, 5 bonus points if you yell it, 5 additional bonus points if you yell it loud enough for the person your dibsing(new word) hears it and looks and you point back at them. So you could potentially get 20 points per dibs.
With that, there is a possible for 20+ additional points depending on the number of people you dibs. For example, you see two smoking hot girls walking down the street, this is the perfect oppertunity to claim "DOUBLE DIBS!" where you have just claimed BOTH girls from your buddies. They are pissed, but thats too damn bad they are yours!
I have been known to quadruple dibs, and even more than that. If you have ever seen night at the roxbury, I actually had to slow it down once. Dibs.. 1 2 3.. Dibs.. 1 2 3.. dibs!.. yeah thats right. I am hardcore.
So after you understand the game here is the real challenge that involves these balls. Or whatever you have (I don't know what girls got.. well I do, but I don't know what they use for courage haha)
You can, and should, approach the girl. Not stalker creeper.. Just casually walk up and say whats up. Let them know you had dibsed them from a distance and that you were really interested in them. Either they will look at you very confused, at which point you pull out your laptop or cell phone with wireless internet and show them this post, or say something funny and work your magic.
If your good enough, you could pull a number, or atleast a name to find on facebook, maybe a date if your a champ.
Oh, I just remembered, it's an additional 2 points if you snipe a dibs. Sniping a dibs is a long distance call, you see a girl you can't really make out that well and call it. If they get close and are a keeper you get 2 additional points. However, if it ends up being a man with a pony tail thats negative points (your friends decide how in the hole you go) and your friends are welcome to point and laugh, call you names, and other rediculous things to rub it in your face that you are an idiot. Oh and your current points will be erased on the day so those negative points are legit. Sucks to be you.
Don't worry, I have dibsed multiple dudes with pony tails from a distance, it sucks, but you will live to see another dibs.
Essentially this game was invented to give a guy (or girl) an exscuse to show they are looking for some attention and are on the prowl for there next possible date. It is all in good fun and can be super entertaining if you are serious about it.
So go, enjoy it, spread the word. Feel free to post this all over your friends facebook and challenge them to a friendly game of DIBS.
Soon to be available in board game form, much like monopoly, but not as boring.

DIBS
Best Friends Wedding
So here is a story for you all that I feel will catch some people off guard.
A week ago.. and two days.. holy crap where has time gone!
okay a week and two days ago one of my best friends got married. At the very old age of 20. Yeah, 20 years old and married pretty crazy. I know it isn't the youngest legal age you can get married but really that is super young and uncommon.
So, a little back story to get this clear.. They had met about a year or two ago but were just friends, then a while back which the night I remember very clearly, myself, him, and two other friends went to her house and they hung out. It was the first time I had met the girl and wasn't aware there was anything going on with those two. I immediately called DIBS on her, which if you are unfirmiliar with the game of DIBS it is a legit way to claim a girl.
I will explain the game in my next post.
I should also mention my friend is in the Air Force and based in Washington, we are here in Minnesota. So these two kick it off and are spending A LOT of time together, which first off myself and another friend in our group were pretty bummed on because he was gone for about 6 or so months before all of this. However, there really wasn't much stopping those two they just clicked and had something.
After the leave he was on was up and he had to head back to his "job" haha we knew something was up between those two.
Eventually she went and flew out to his place out there and stayed a week, where he had proposed to her. Pretty wild..
The next few months are pretty crazy, he is off in Iraq, Europe, all over hell in his big planes and she is here working and getting a wedding planned.
Fast forward a few months and he is back in town. HOLY HELL! I was super excited to see him and blown away by what was about to happen.
So Saturday morning rolls around, I get all decked out in my clothes and stuff and head to the church. Before the wedding we were all waiting in a room just talking.
I asked him if he was nervous, and immediately he responded with "nope." I didn't respond, all I could think is "if he was nervous this wasn't right.. but he isn't so it has to be". So now they are married, they are heading back to Washington today to begin their life together, I say that today because the last week they have been around hanging out with family and friends getting treated amazing. It's the real world when they get back haha. I have no real worries, he goes on deployment in a few months for a few months. I know he will be fine, I know she will be too. It is crazy to think that is what it has become so quick.. I am not ready for this adult stuff I think.

Carter III
So, last night at midnight Lil' Wayne's CarterIII dropped. What does this means? This means a shitload of money was made in about .05 seconds thats what.
My buddy last night downloaded the CD off Itunes after buying it, even though the CD ended up in the wrong persons hands a week prior to it with it being leaked for illegal downloads to go down on it.
So today on a break after riding some bike we jumped into his VW GULF, and he cranked up the music. I heard the majority of the CD, which there were some I liked and some I didn't like.
This is the track list-
3 Peat
Mr. Carter (featuring Jay-Z)
A Milli
Got Money (featuring T-Pain)
Comfortable (featuring Babyface)
Phone Home
Dr. Carter
Tie My Hands (featuring Robin Thicke)
Shoot Me Down (featuring D.Smih)
Playin' With Fire (featuring Betty Wright)
Lollipop (featuring Static Major)
L.A. (featuring Brisco and Busta Rhymes)
Good Girl Gone Bad
You Ain't Got Nuthin' On Me (featuring Fabolous and Juelz Santana)
Let the Beat Build
Whip It
Misunderstood
I wasn't a fan of A Milli, something about it being repeated OVER AND OVER AND OVER again just drives me nuts, it makes me think rap is a joke. However, I was a big fan of 3 peat, and lollipop. The majority of the CD was good I think.
I about died laughing though, as we rolled back up to the skatepark to ride some more this old lady was walking on the sidewalk and due to the music being so loud and the windows open we got mean mugged preeeeeetty hardcore. However, in some respect I am sure when I am 70 years old and some "kids" roll up blasting music that isn't from my generation I am going to give some looks too.
So maybe he did make A LOT of money already from this CD, I mean think about that. If you have a large enough fan base that your CD is anticipated you know there will be this burst of sales the second it is released.
Why am I talking about money? Because that is what the music industry is... a huge multi-billion dollar industry that artists are on a constant paper chase so they can buy another mansion, another car, another illegal gun. Yeah you know what I am talking about.
So here it is, To BUY, or Not To BUY.
Well, if your into rap and beats, then I would for sure suggest it, but I know a lot of people are not into that sort of thing and I would say avoid it because even me who has a lot of tollerance for rap had me questioning what the point of repeating A milli over and over and over again haha. Sorry it bothered me.
Oh by the way, I am no Lil' Weezy expert haha.

Open your mouth and
So maybe I am still a little immature... or maybe this is the part of being an adult we hide when kids are around. I realized that, when I was young I just thought adults didn't say dirty jokes, or swear, but then once you get to a certain age they just don't care and start saying some crazy things. Trust me, you meet my Uncle John and you will hear more obscene things that you could ever imagine... I am close to 20 years old, have heard and seen some rediculously dirty things in my life.. and he still makes my jaw drop.
So this is the reason for this post... I was just cruising around Facebook seeing what people were up to these days and I noticed this ad on the side of the page.
Now clearly yes, this is a no drinking and driving ad clearly.. But honestly? This will end up on Jay Leno! It is CLEARLY a sexual enuendo if you are thinking like me right now.. Haha I mean really? Couldn't they have just said "oh s#*%" or something, but noooo "OPEN YOUR MOUTH!" which in all actuality, has nothing to do with giving a breathalizer, you blow..
wow.. okay this is way too dirty. I am probably going to be looked at like a pervert, but come on people lighten up, this is humor and you know it!

Kids Screaming
Today was interesting... Not only do I get to update a site that gets 10,000 views a day which is a geek like myself's idea of a good time, but there was another thing. I went down to the skate park for what I figured would be a empty park for me to work on a few new tricks on my bike, and just in general do my thing practicing tricks over and over again until I don't think... I do.
So I roll up.. EMPTY! amazing.. doing my stuff... warming up.. getting loose.
I notice out of the corner of my eye.. a whole bunch of little kids coming around the corner. Oh geeze, there goes my fun. Some are on scooters, roller blades, and skateboards. The rest are running around screaming... Until I do a few tricks. I didn't mean to make a scene or anything, I just did my regular stuff and before you knew it there was 25 little mezmerized kids sitting there just watching screaming "COOL!" "RAD!" (I didn't even know little kids knew that word!) and so on. Finally the teacher asked me if I could do some more stuff for them, which I did.. The kids got pumped up. It was actually a really fun time. I had to laugh, I am on a bike, and the kids kept calling me "Tony Hawk" yes.. The professional skateboarder, not BMX rider "Dave Mirra" which would have been a little more logical haha.
Shortly after I got doing stuff, a few friends who skateboard showed up (luckily they have talent) and they joined in. That was nice because I got to chill a bit and the kids still were pumped up and that was good.
Sadly enough, I had to head home to eat, check my mail, write this apparently, and get ready for work. The kids were pretty bummed I had to leave, but it was funny watching 20 kids yelling "WHATS YOUR REAL NAME!!!" haha
So I roll away do one more big trick and I was done.. That was my excitement for the day. I like doing stuff like that.

Work is only as fun as the employees make it
Being a college student, I am allowed to have just crap jobs that I make little and do little.
I work at Pac Sun which is a unbelievably easy job and basically my manager made one big mistake.
She clearly told me I cannot quit, or be fired due to the fact that if that happened other people would end up quitting also.
I know, I know, "what a popular guy" ... Ha, no I just know how to have fun at work.
One day, it was fairly slow and it ended up being four people working in the store. We have two phones, one in the back room and one at the registers. My manager who for some reason enjoys leaving me in charge while she gets stuff done in the back has no idea what I am thinking.
I look over at the two girls I work with and ask them "You ever prank called your boss?" ... They both get this very concerned face and say "no, that would be stupid! People get in trouble doing that!" I couldn't help but laugh.. Remember the store is dead, I wouldn't do this if it was busy obviously..unless I was quitting.
Which is a brilliant idea, quit over the phone, while working! okay sorry back to my story.
I pull out my cell phone and go down to the saved contact "Pac Sun", yes it is saved I gotta call or avoid calls from time to time. It starts ringing, the two other girls were off doing something else and completely stopped and their jaws dropped. My manager in the back answers "Pac Sun, how can I help you?"
Me- "EH! My son bought a damn skateboard at your store and I need to return it!"
Her- "Um, sir, we don't sell skateboards."
Me-"I am holding the DAMN reciept and it says Pac Sun clearly on it!"
Her- "No, we don't sell skateboards here, just clothes."
Me-"Well I want my damn money back and I need to know where you guys are located!"
Her- "The address is on the reciept, I am sure you will be able to find us that way. Thank you" .... click..
The phone call was actually longer, I just condensed it down for attention deficites people tend to have.
All of this was going on and the girls I was working with are just cracking up finally...
My manager comes out and notices them laughing and says "Wow, I just got the most random weird phone call ever!"... The girls instantly start laughing and she says "Why are you guys laughing." and looks right at me... All I could say was I have no idea I think they are on drugs.
She looks at me and says she heard laughing in the background and that she knows I was screwing with her now.
All I say is "Go look at the door in the backroom, on the poster it clearly says "Work is only as fun as the employees make it!"
She just looks at me and walks away... Not a single word.
